(Updated 1.16.21)

1) Piano and voice lessons are only as effective as the practice time the student is able and willing to commit to. Please team with me in encouraging your student to get regular quality practice time in (not just the day before or day of the lesson). Practice tips and how to best support your music student are posted in the “Resources” section of this site.

2) Siblings are welcome to attend music lessons, provided they are supervised and not disruptive to the lesson.

3) Please be on time to your lesson and bring your books, assignment book and pencil with you. Most lessons are scheduled back-to-back with another student, and I won’t be able to add extra time to a lesson. If you know you are running late, please call/text otherwise see below for cancellation policies.

4) I know that life happens and sometimes cancellations are necessary. Please review my cancellation policy below carefully. These apply for non-emergency situations. Missed lessons may be rescheduled if there was enough notice.

  • at least 1 day notice = no charge

  • less than 24 hours notice = no refund (sorry!)

  • 15 minutes late and you are considered a NO SHOW for that lesson (virtual and in-person); no refund

  • I have three young children at home, so PLEASE reschedule or cancel if there is any chance of sickness.

5) Students and charter schools will be invoiced at the beginning of the month for the previous month’s lessons (or at the start of a school enrichment/purchase order). Please pay within a week of receiving your invoice. Please submit charter school payment requests in a timely manner. Payment options are listed here:

  • PayPal

  • Venmo

  • Zelle

  • Personal checks are accepted and should be made payable to “Dokko Piano Studio.”

  • Required materials (books, worksheets, etc.) are not included in regular lesson costs, but will be included in your invoice or requested separately.

6) Discontinuation of lessons prior to the end of the agreed term requires 30 days notice in writing.
