Vanessa Dokko studied piano in various piano studios in the San Gabriel Valley from the age of 5 until she graduated from high school.  She completed all of the requirements for the Certificate of Merit program and received her Senior Medal.  Vanessa studied Music Education (with a Piano Performance Emphasis) at UCLA, studying with Walter Ponce. After graduating from UCLA, she taught Choral and Vocal Music for nine years at Paul Revere Middle School (LAUSD) in the Brentwood/Santa Monica area. Vanessa is a full-time mom first, but enjoys playing piano in various capacities whenever she has the chance.

Vanessa grew up taking voice lessons and singing in choirs in school and at church. As a child, she toured with her parents through the United States and internationally with their singing ensemble, Joyful Melody. In her post-grad/pre-mommy years, Vanessa had the opportunity to work with the Mikrokosmos Children’s Choir and toured with the Celebrant Singers (primary keyboard) and the Continental Singers (singer/dancer). As with piano, she enjoys singing in various capacities whenever she has the chance.

Some personal hobbies, interests and outside activities include: BSF Children’s Leader, involvement in the kids and music ministries at her local church, Boy and Girl Scouts, clean health and beauty, Disneyland, food, travel, family and friends.

Vanessa holds a current California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music.
